pulling transmission

We'll Im pulling the trans on my 2002 fx4 tomorrow and was wondering where i could get a tranny jack. I thought that i could rent one but i cant find anyone around here that rents. Any suggestions? Also I was wondering what you guys thought i should do maintenance wise whilei got it out? The truck has 87,000 miles on it. I figure the fuel filter and maybe plugs?

Gotcha, not a bad idea to save on some of the labor. As scotyg said, if you have a rolling car jack I believe there are adapters. Buddy of mine and myself pulled out the trans in my Trans Am years ago with just a rolling floor jack. He balanced it while I lowered it down, might not have been the smartest thing to do but we were working on it in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Nice, good job. Hopefully for you, putting it back in won't be twice as hard as it was removing.
