If your planning on keeping the truck and investing more in your system, get something nice and have it professionally installed. I own viper and will never own anything else. It may seem like a lot of money (i'd say somehwere in the 700 range for alarm/keyless/remote start + adding acutators for power locks) but its worth it. Think if you stop 1 theif, that right there probablly just payed for the alarm. My aftermarket goodies retail for well over a couple thousand on my truck (not saying I payed that haha). Not to mention new door handles or glass or whatever else the theif breaks.
I totally agree. And viper is a great system.

Get the basic Viper...350HV. installed for $250. 100x better then the alarm on that website. They dont even give any specs about it and what it protects/doesnt protect.

I understand what yall are saying and for the alarm I'm gonna have to look at the viper set-ups availble. The reason I was on that site was strictly for power locks and keyless entry. I may or maynot add the "alarm" to the system and I only went as far to find out that it simply protects the doors. I would guess something similar to the set-up that came on my sister's 04 heritage. It came with an alarm that can be set and disabled and basically goes off if set and the door is open but doesn't lock or unlock the doors since she doesn't have power locks either. From a power lock and keyless entry stand point what would be another option for a setup of is there an alarm that has these that wont break the bank

When Ever you get your alarm installed tell them you want it hidden well. I have seen some pretty bad installs and all you have to do is unplug the unit and it no longer does anything for you.

First person ive ever heard rag on a viper.

The only thing you really need out of that kit that they are selling is the switch. You can buy actuators and do it yourself or pay someone else to do it. Its really not that hard

that power lock kit.

if your going to do an alarm, just save your money and do it all at once. Usually what we do with cars that have your situation is add actuators to the lock rod. The actuators are what makes it go up and down. If you want, you could add in a factory-like switch to control them from the interior. Or you could just use the viper clicker to lock/unlock the doors.

Be sure to air the rear tires down when you go offroad it makes a world of difference on a 2wd, It helped me and my BFG's were almost bald
