Lifting my 2001 single cab!!!!
Ok guys i have a ford f150 now w/ cranked t-bars. I have ran across $3000. Should i. "a" get 20" wheels and 35" tires with 3" body lift. "b" leave my wheels and get 35" tires and 5 in suspension lift. Or, "c" you decide and let me know whats best for me. I dont go off road very much just ride around town. Wadell if your out there let me know. Lol
Nice Truck man. The body lift is the cheapest lift available for these trucks and they do look good with it too. As for suspesion lifts, if you don't plan on the offroadin like you said the body lift is probably the most bang for the buck for ya. There are lots of options for them the best ones being 1st:Fabtech,2nd:RCD, and 3rd:Rancho(depending on opinions). Wheels, if your are 16x9 or 17x9 I say keep'em and save the cash...the look good on your truck and get the tires you "really" want. Obviously its your choice and you need to do what you like/want, because there are ALOT of opinions out there.
Thanks "ebxgsxr" and "illness95", i really like what u gus have done too
"jdlowesracer" i really like your truck, i think i will keep my wheels and get body lift w/ nitto mud grapplers. Now what about the sive 305/70/17 or 315/70/17 i want it too proportion out right. Not just fill up fenders and have to trim.
Every bit of help is helpful, thanks!

If you don't off road much, a Body Lift is the way to go IMO. Seeing as both lifts would be primarily for looks and not very functional purposes, a Body Lift will look good and save you a bundle (especially if you do the install yourself, which isn't that difficult).
I have 3" Body Lift and 35's and do off road a decent amount. Sand, snow, mud, and even rocky trail riding, I have never been stuck with this set up. So even if you do get the urge to off road, you should have a pretty capable vehicle.
Here's a link so you can see what the install process is like. Probably figure about a weekend with a case of beer and a buddy or two (if you are 21 of course).
Good luck, post some pics when you finish it up, whatever you decide to do.

thanks guys, so i'm sure im gonna go with body lift. NEXT! what tires should i get and size specs on wheels? will my wheels i have now work (17x9 unk back spacing) and waddell what kind of tow hooks do you have to make them like that ?
I mounted towhooks from a 88-98 GM 4x4 inside the frame rails. They line up almost perfectly with the holes in the valance after the body lift.
get yourself a tire that will last please.
Toyo Open Country MT's, Mickey Thompson MTZ, BFG KM2
but anyways go with a 3" Performance Accessories body lift, you current wheels will work fine.
but 35's on your 17x9 MIGHT fit with just the t-bars cranked. But mud graps wont they are too agressive on the sidewall and you will get alot of rub.

You will need to at least add a 3 inch body lift to fit 35's with your 17x9 inch wheels. I also agree that there are better tire choices than the Mud Grapplers. They are a good tire, but they wear out quickly and are extremely loud.
