Project: Shaved Bed Caps

I decided to shave my bed caps today. The street scene bed caps just werent doing it for my. Heres some pics of what i got done today.












I still have a lot more sanding to do and then i get to do the other side and tailgate.

I've always wondered why Ford put the plastic caps. Why couldn't they do this from the start? Looks like it's gonna turn out great. BTW, how did you like those smooth caps you have?

That's outstanding looking. I wish the aftermarket would come up with something to replace mine. I used to do animal rescue and those edges show the wear of loading and unloading cages and tables.

man that looks great...i've been wanting to at least fill in the holes and have a spray in liner sprayed over the caps for awhile now, but haven't thought of actually shaving the entire thing. And why did ford have to put all those holes in the rail for the caps?! chevy just uses double sided tape and it seems to work fine...

ford uses holes for the emblems too.... No other manufacturor does that.

yeah, street scene sells them. Mine are for sale too btw.
