2001 F150 4.6 Triton engine - 117,000 mi. Check engine light on - diagnostic tool hosted P0401 indicating EGR. Replaced EGR, replaced EGR solenoid and pressure switch. Check engine light remains on. Help.

 

We will let you slide because you are a newbie Gotta clean the EGR ports in the throttle body elbow. Do a search here, its probably talked about once a week.

 

thanks for your help however i am a stupid newbie...... what should i use to clean the ports? and is the port directly behind the EGR valve? should the check engine light reset it self once this prob is fixed? i was told it would take 200 miles..... thanks again bill

 

What you do is clear the codes with a scanner or by disconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes - and see if they come back.
