Will these tires fit on stock 16" rims?

I own an '03 xlt s-cab 4x4.
I picked up a set of never mounted Cooper Discoverers 215/85/R16s very cheap ($150 for the set).
I have the standard 16" chrome rims.
Guessing they are 7" wide?
From these descriptions, can someone confirm these tires will mount on my rims without any issues?
I am starting to second guess my purchase.
Thanks, nhford

your oem wheels are 7.5'' wide.

will the tires safely mount and balance? yes.

will they look ridiculously small on your truck, and negatively affect performance? yes.

So, the tires will mount fine. That's great.

Thanks 'minimonster'.

They will look small... as in the width will look small, correct?
They are taller than stock, even taller than my current cooper 245/75/16's.
I don't mind how the truck looks anymore.
I'm interested in cheap safe tires to get back/ forth to work, HD, city dump, and the landscaping yard.

I leave the performance and looks for cruising in my 72 fastback...

A big thank you for letting me know on the mount / balance.

215 ?

You're probably gonna get 35 mpg.
Lance Armstrong runs a wider tire than that.

well, that kind of tire change is going to throw off your speedometer, odometer, and transmission shift points slightly, that's all i meant.

if you like to load your truck down heavy frequently, you may want to consider another set of tires.

Minimonster... Question on your last comment.
These tires are Load 'E' rated, will that make a difference for Heavy loads?
As in, should I be concerned about heavy loads with this rating?

nhford, Your stock 16s are 7" wide. Cooper's approved wheel width for that size tire is 5.5-7" so you should be good to go. They are also very close in height to your 245/75/16s so no need to worry about the speedo either. Also, no need to worry about hauling with them, load range E which equals 2680 pound max load rating per tire. This is an old dually tire size which explains the narrow high load tire. They are NARROW and will look strange on an F150, but it sounds like you got a good deal on them and they will do what you need them to just fine so why not?

Here's the link to Cooper's website: http://www.coopertire.com/html/tires...&artw=85&rd=16

After popular replies, I ditched the 215/85/16's...

I had picked up a set of Cooper Discoverer Radail Lt 215/85/16's for $150 on craigslist.
Never mounted, brand new.
I asked the forum about fitment on my stock rims.
Besides stating they would fit the truck okay, the general concensus was...
An odd looking set of tires for my truck.
I didn't care at the time.
Soon after a buddy with the same truck bought a set of tires.
(Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires)
I caved, and decided to look around.
I was able to find Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires, $79 apiece. Onlinetires.com
I asked another internet tire site if they'd match pricing, & they did. treadepot.com
I'm paying $410 delivered for my Goodyears instead of $460.
Shipping from FLA is cheaper than CA.
I was also able to sell my Discoverer tires through Craigslist for a profit.
With the profit I made, only took $225 out of my pocket.
Have a set of Goodyear Wrangler RT/S LT245/75/16 on the way.
It has been a good week.
To everyone who kinda joked, chuckled at my tall and skinnies which I -used to have-...
Thanks for the input.
(Roger at Treadepot.com is a great guy to work with, in case you're looking)
