ford f-150 year 2000
The following things are wrong with my f-150
The locks don’t lock any more. Whenever I push the thing to unlock it or lock it, it just makes the noise but don’t move the locks. It moves just a tiny bit but not enough for it to lock or anything. If you know what’s wrong with it can u give me the website where I can buy it and please not ford they cut throat.
The thing that tells you the millage, doesn’t work sometimes and other times it works.
The compass doesn’t light up anymore it use to once in a while but now just gone.
The review mirrors the thing that moves it don’t move it anymore.
And there’s a weird noise coming from the back whenever I push the gas I think it’s coming from the muffler.
Can you please help me?

I have a few of these symptoms myself.
The lock issue is caused by a faulty actuator (apparently on each door in your case). You can either search and find the post that deals with cleaning it, but it isnt a guaranteed fix. Or you can buy 2 new actuators @ something like 50 bucks a piece. From what i recall, they are kinda a PITA to remove due to the awkward location and the fact that they are riveted into the door (someone correct me if i misread).
For the intermittent odometer check this link. You can either spend $$$ on a new one, or try this fix which i will most likely do to mine in the near future.

I dont have a compass so searching might be your best bet at a quick answer.
My wing mirrors also dont work. So far i havent really cared since its only me driving and i dont adjust regularly. It is probably a bad or corroded motor assembly, but ill wait for someone to chime in.
My '99 had a pretty rusty muffler, so i would expect yours to be in similar condition. Could you elaborate on "weird noise"? Check for holes or rust spots and see if the exhaust hangers are still intact. Without a better understanding its hard to diagnose.
Anyways, welcome, and i hope you get your truck all fixed up. Hope this helps.

oh thanks for the help can u show me actuator so i can see what it look like and a website where i can take it off and or were i can buy a new one please and i found out whats wrong with my millage reader it was a fuse.
I had the door lock problem too. I replaced them both. Here is one place to get them http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200..._actuator.html
Also, sorry to steal the thread, but my locks sometimes do the same thing as yours when I try to lock them from the drivers side, they make the noise but not enough movement, but if I use the keyless entry or the passenger side switch they always work. Could the switch be bad and still make the noise as if it is trying to lock??

I had a couple of those probs as well. I did the odometer fix as linked above and it works. I did it couple years ago and recently noticed that it started flickerin again so will have to redo, but thats pretty east fix. The door lock actuators thats another story. I will whole heartedly agree they are a PITA to replace. The lock mech and actuator are mounted right between the window track and the outer framework of the door. So it is REAL tight in there have to pretty much do it blind and no they are NOT riveted on at least mine weren't. They are however snapped on pretty tight. I donated to blood to the truck gods that day. Here's where I got my replacement actuators from:
door lock actuators
They are a good group to deal with and got them to me really fast.

best thing to do is pull off the door panel & watch the actuator when you hit the switch. we just had an explorer sport trac in the shop where the actuator was working, but the rods were messed up. then we also found that a lever on the latch was also hanging up when the key was used. but when the keyless entry was used it had enough force to push the lever past the point it was hanging up.
same thing here . except for the light and the mirror . and yes the door lock is a PITA . I scratch and cut every knuckle in my hands . I get the locks from autozone $ 35.00 each but that was two years ago . hope everything works out
