lights, HID questions, and sound system questions

hey guys i tried to do a search for this but came up dry for this particular section (97-03)

im sure its come up before but its not gonna kill you all to re answer the questions

so im going to get a complete new set of lights for the front and rear
http://www.k2motor.com/hglhp-f150971pcjm-ks.html how do you think that grill will look? am going with the black/red theme like others
or
http://www.k2motor.com/4lhpf150971pcjmks.html

then for the rear im set on these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=

my question is do i need the HID conversion kit shown here
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=

and if i do need it im planning on getting the 30k lights
how illegal are those? i know there is a black prerunner f150 in town with purple lights and hes had them for a while so i doubt hes gotten too much trouble with it but i live in yuma, AZ. a sorta small town (150k) so cops arent crazy here.

also i plan on getting some blue or white blinkers. are those illegal too?
here are the blinkers
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=

next questions.................
has anyone tried this sub box? im thinking of getting the 2 12s but am not sure how this will work under my seat. i have the 2000 f150 lariat edition Scab.
http://www.supercrewsound.com/commer...Id=11&catId=56

looks legit but i am wondering how it would be with 2 nice 12s compared to 2 nice 10s.

what subs would you guys recomend for whatever you think is better--12 or 10

also with people with my style f150 what did you guys do with your speakers? thinking about getting some nice ones but havent found the exact ones

anyone have 2 din decks that fit without modification?
thinking about this one
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...IC-F900BT.html

ok im think im done with all my questions for now..

thanks guys!

Not trying to be rude, but getting 30K HID bulbs is straight retarded. You wiki basically be driving in the dark due to the the most horrible light output. Your best bet would be getting ones from 6K to 10K. I can't attest for legailty issues in Arizona though, so hopefully someone else will chime in.

also not trying to be rude (lol), but everything mentioned above besides the sub box and double din nav unit is pure rice...just some constructive criticism...trying to help you not ruin your truck

i figured 30k would be the brightest since its the highest number lol guess i was completely wrong.

and i realize that it may be "ricey" but it will look nice. maybe not so much the lights because i thought they would be hella bright but the front and rear lights would look pretty sick IMO.

if you dont like the light combo what would you recomend?

i've always loved the look of these and am thinking about getting some myself sometime.

as far as the HID "K" rating goes, that's just the temperature rating in kelvin; I'm not sure what color would be that high. I think most oem's use like 4300K (pure white, brightest i think). 10000K is pretty purple, which takes away light output. I'm also thinking about these tail lights...I like that they look close to stock:

at the bottom where the lights are pictured, it tells you the lumens output for each color. as you go up in color, the amount of lighting will be reduce be alot, meaning you won't be able to see crap....mainly because your lights will be pink...........

well ill go with the 10k for sure then.
any way i can set it so my high beams are pink?

i still think it would look cool with pink lights...

and the 2 links you showed me 1 clean they are pretty sweet but i still prefer the ones i showed just a bit more..

im going to smoke them out and i like the look of darkr lights.

once i get them ill show you all some pics and you can see if they are ricey or not!

Well in order to have 2 different color lights, you would have to have 2 different bulbs....and the only way to do that would be to have a 2 bulb headlight housing, like the one piece projectors are....

You can go with the 30k if you'd like, but you won't be getting as much light output as a pair of 12k or less bulbs.

And again, I know that anything past blue in the headlights here in Texas is straight illegal....might want to check with the DPS or whatever y'all call it...

Well they would have to the the right bulbs to fit in that spot. But you should be able to find the bulbs you want to fit.

Ok here we go...

As far as HIDs go, stick with 4300k-6000k, these will be the brightest. Once you go above that you will lose light output quick. 10,000k will be stupidly purple/blue, you won't be able to see ANYTHING in rain, or anything at all if you go ahead and smoke your headlights

The blue blinkers are illegal. You will get pulled over for them. Only emergency vehicles are allowed to have blue lights.

The lights off ebay... yeah they're rice. If you like them, you like them. Just remember to reseal the edges with silicon or they will leak. Other then that you should be good. Just a reminder again... They're rice
