need help on a 2001 F150 project

i just got a 2001 F150 xlt sport 2 door 2wd 5 speed manual 4.2l v6 and i want to make it a sick truck and im split between lowering and going with a street look or lifting it if i can im moving to main but i dont know if it is worth raising cuz it is only a 2wd any suggestion would help thanks

lifting would look cool I think. if you really drive your truck, with a slight lift/level kit you will be able to go over any speed bumps or curbs and anything else, you wont have to worry about bottoming out or scrapin your bumper.

if you know what the Baja 1000, or pretty much any fast pace truck race are 2wd trucks with long travel suspension.

im going with a 2.5" level and a 1.5-1.5" add a leaf on my 01 screw 2wd

its a V6. lifting it means bigger tires and wheels. that thing will be a huge turd unless he regears and all that junk. dropping would be much easier and cheaper

mines dropped slightly and I can still drive it anywhere I need and I can still tow a boat to the lake

I vote a 'modest' lift 3" or so.

I say drop. Unless you want to spill the $$ for gears and other things to help retain the mileage, just drop it....i will be doing a 2/4 in the future, and will still be able to drive over speed bumps are normals speeds........
