hi to all i was wondering if anyone had an idea what my problem might be. i have a 1997 ford f150 auto transmission having trouble getting it to shift out of park at times is it the brake switch to unlock the shifter. At times you may have to play with it for ten minutes or so

 

sounds like a brake light switch. have someone check the brake lights when it wont shift out of park.

 

...and consult the owner's manual to see how to bypass the interlock.

 

got it fixed it was the brake light switch i thought that might be the problem but was not sure
