hesitation off the line and around 40-50

ok this problem is with my 2001 f-150 supercrew 5.4 with a tad over 104k on the clock

the check engine light is on so the mechainc at work ran it and it came back lean on bank 1....

it hesitaites pretty bad off the line under normal acceleration, and then again around 40-50 when cruising...

jsut wondering any direction i could go in instead of bringing it to a shop

btw, new plugs were just installed about 5k ago..

thanks for the help

I just had the same issue, hesitation from a stop and while trying to accelerate in OD....turns out i had a bad coil pack on plug #7. 94k miles and that was the first one i've had to replace. I would suspect you may have a bad coil also

i took mine to my local ford dealer and had them stick it on their diagnostic machine and they read the codes to find out which one was bad. sorry i don't have more info on that. may find more on doing a search or posting this under the V8 engines part of the forum
