Question What MODS?????

I want to do more mods on my truck. I already put new rims and a toolbox. I also added new smoked headlights and side markers, painted the brake calipers and a new exhaust system with straight pipe(haven't put new pictures up yet). Don't really know what else to do. I am going to be adding a lift to it later when I get some more money saved up for that. Just want it to look a bit better and perform better. I'm thinking about a black mesh grille and color matching the grille surrounding and mirror caps, because I don't like that much chrome. Need some help on what else to do.

Thanks

definately replace the grill, i think those style grills are kinda ugly. also have you thought about painting the grill surround?

instead of replacing the mirror caps, have you though about chroming the door handles/ other trim?

paint to match owns chrome....I would paint the grill surround, mirror caps and maybe the whole front bumper, look into making a patman grill....(its basically a honeycomb grill without a logo.)
lose the bug shield, put new body style emblems on it, lift it only if your going to put some meatier tires on it, if not then lower would look better

I am thinking of getting this grille but in black.

I am going to paint the grille surrounding and paint the mirror caps, I just dont like to much chrome. Want to get a cowl induction hood. And when I lift it going to get bigger aggressive looking tires.

Besides what was stated above, I would replace the headlights/corners...Get rid of the bug deflector...Remove the side door moldings ...maybe add a OEM 4x4 lower valance with fog lights

I have new headlights. Haven't got new pictures yet, will get them on tomorrow. I found a Harley lower valance i'm going to get. Got to get a new hood (prevous owner must have lived under a bird) paint doesn't look good on the hood, but does on the rest of the truck. Will end up going with a cowl induction hood. It's just an on going project. It's addicting.

Firstly, move that CB antenna to the roof (unless its a 102" whip... then its fine)

I have the same grille as you do, and I think I'm going to look for a cheap/tarnished billet grille and paint it black as well as get a black surround to replace the chrome one.

I also thought it would really dress it up if you painted the black plastic parts of the front bumper with the body color.

Otherwise, I don't like major add-ons. There is a guy who lives near me with an F150 that has a light bar AND a headache rack, toolbox, wheels, grille guard, chrome accents, billet gas door, chrome grille inserts... the list goes on forever. I just think to myself, he spent $10,000 dressing up a $6000 truck and it looks like ghetto crap. I'm a hotrodder, and I'm all for making something what you want, but why didn't he just spend $15,000 on a better truck and put $1000 worth of modest accessories on it? Instead he put so much money into things he never uses just to look good. Nothing makes me laugh more than seeing an accessory on a vehicle that isn't useful; like a light bar or winch on a 2wd truck that will never see a dirt road, or a monster lift on a commuter truck.

I'm a big fan of keeping it simple. Little things like painting the bumper plastic body color, billet grilles painted black, and nice wheels (which you have) and just leave it alone. It will be enough to make people realize that your truck is different and tidy, but not scream at them as if to say, "LOOK AT MY SMALL *****!"

take a look at my truck. Its as bone stock as it gets. I think I'll add some fabricated bumpers since I offroad some and the grille I talked about, but otherwise I think its fine as it is. I'd love to get rid of the stock grey steel wheels, but they work just fine and I won't cry when they get destroyed on the trail. I think your truck looks great, man. Good choice of wheels. They really stand out, but don't smack you in the face like 30" chromie rimZ

Thanks, it is a 102" whip on it. I don't really like th ones on the roof it looks weird. I'm going to get the grill surround and mirror caps painted the body color. And going to be adding a black mesh grille to it. I like things simple to, I hate when people add a ton of chrome things like the mirrors, door handles, gas door, vent shades, bug deflector, and the chrome piece between the doors. It makes the truck look like crap.

I would only add chrome door handles, and mirrors if the truck was silver or white. Your truck would look good with a off-road bumper, a nice set of off-road rims and tires, and window tint. I got a great deal on my rims and tire. I looked on craig list and bought the rims and tires from guy for just $600. He only had the on for a month then sold hims truck.

truck should look good when done with it...nice color btw!
look in my gallery for pics of some of the things ppl have mentioned in previous posts (like ptm 4x4 valance w/fogs, grille surround, mirror caps, cowl hood). I changed to a lightning grille and love the look - better than a billet grille imo...i had one, but took it off and went for the simpler look. painted black, it might look good though. good luck with the modding!

did you have trouble putting yours in tho?

and IMO the chrome surround and smoked lights kinda clash
a few PTM parts on your truck would do wonders
