01 f-150 ???

My over head console Compass and Temp doesn't work . I have checked fuses and wires . What else could it be ? How much to replace that part?

Also the horn and Cruis doesn't work . Checked with Ford on the Cruise Control recall and they deny it being a Problem after I seen it on my CARFAX report and many websites .
Any ideas what this could be ??

don't know much about the overhead console so i can't help you there, sorry.

the horn and cruise control has nothing to do with the recall. that recall is just to keep your truck from going up in flames from faulty wiring going to the switch on the master cylinder.

your clock spring, which is the part inside your steering wheel that controls the horn and cruise control, is probably no good. i haven't owned a ford yet (8 and counting) that didn't need this part replaced at some point. i'd check into that.

Would I need to check with a shop for that ? I don't like messing around the airbags myself . Thanks

In my 01 Supercrew, the wires that feed the overhead console pass behind the rear passenger seat on the passenger side. Why the wires go all the way back there is beyond me but anyway... My truck had the rear window leak like many others of that year, and that is what I suspect, caused the wire corrosion. The leak was fixed, but the corroded wires problem only showed up years later.

Good luck
