annoying windshield wiper problem

Thought I posted this earlier, but its not showing up so...

Anyone else have a problem with the last 2-3 inches of the passenger side wiper not contacting the windshield? You know where the glass curves a bit more on the edges.

When operating the wipers, they have to move up about 8 inches before the full blade comes in contact with the windshield meaning that until then, there is always streaking on that side.

I have a brand new set of Bosch blades, 420A for the driver side and 420B for the passenger and it has done this with every single set of blades I've used on the truck.

Just wondering if anyone else has the problem. I've tried using slightly longer and slightly shorter blades on that side but it really doesn't do anything until I get down to about a 16" blade and that's just way too short.

Just something that annoys the hell out of me every time I get in my truck and see it.

I can't say that I notice this on my 02'. I recently replaced mine with the Rain-X brand and they seem to make good contact all around.

do you remember what size they were? should be either 20" or 22"

my truck calls for 22" for early 98 and 20" for late 98. i could have the reversed, but i think that's how it is. i have tried both sizes with the same results.

I've only used Motorcraft blades, factory to me is best. Another trusted brand is Anco or Trico, I don't like any other. Every blade huh? Weird, arm bent probably.

Mine does the same thing. I've tried the OEM 20" wipers, and Michilen Reflex style wipers 20", they both fail to make that last bit of the blade touch the windshield. I just figured its a design issue from FORD but since it doesnt bother my driving I just ignore it. I'll have to check my winter blades to see if they touch.
