2001 engine idle

I am new here and just bought a 2001 f150 with the th V6 in it for a work truck. The idle goes up and down when you have the cluth in or it is in nuetral.I replaced the idle air control valve and the check engine light went out but it still idles rough well it goes up and down. The codes said idle air comtrol and MAF sensor but I dont see a MAF sensor on the air intake.

Any ideas of what the problem is would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Rough idle or stumble at low RPM could be clogged EGR ports or spark problems.

Easiest to start with the EGR ports, and work back from there.

Few threads in the V-6 engine forum on this topic, here is one of them

https://www.f150online.com/forums/v6...-question.html

You cna search on port* or EGR ports or DPFE. Some of the threads are to a specific DTC, while others are idle problems.

How to that gets referenced a lot with this topic ( both V-6 and V-8 engines ).

Yea , check all vacuum lines as well, - A leaky line can cause those symptoms.

Good luck
