Exhaust install

If you change your exhaust, are you suppose to disconnect the battery, like when you change the intake?

Dangit. Something is funny then. Exact same thing happened when I did my Gotts intake too.

While driving, if I am going really slow and let off to idle slowly to a light, or to go over a speed bump, etc.... the truck will kinda shudder, and the rpms will hop a little bit. They jump from like 5-8-5 etc. Does it a couple times, almost sounds like it is boggin down or shutting off.
Did this right after gotts, then stopped a little while later. Now it is doing it again.

One quick question. It seems like my truck also takes longer to shift now. It that bc the exhaust is louder, and it makes it seem like the engine is rev'd more, or is it b/c I put a cheap exhaut on?
Cruising down the road the other day at a constant 70, my rpms where a little over 2. that normal? I stopped and floored it, and seems like it didn't want to shift again. Almost like there was no overdrive. Got up to 4k rom before I let up.

Exhaust is nothing fancy. Just a glasspack dumped before axle. Sound is what I was looking for, but I am worried that something is wrong. Am I over reacting at stuff I never noticed before, or do I have a problem?
