Cheap RAT Truck
Cheap RAT Truck
Well... within the next 4 or less months, I want to find a good rat truck. I was contemplating on getting a F250 diesel, but eh... I want to keep my '07 F150. I'd rather go out and get another F150 for non-road use.
What I'm looking for is a V6 F150, 4x4 regular cab short bed.
Now my questions are...
1. I plan on throwing a nice plow on it for doing my driveways and keeping areas clear around my house and barn. Would it be up for the duty?
2. Should I get a 5 speed or should I go with an automatic? I'm scared if I get the 5 speed, it's ratio wouldn't be good for plowing, as I'd be stalling a lot unless I kept it in 4 Low.
3. I'm thinking of getting an automatic in bed salter/sander, would I need a 8' bed for it?
I'd like to get a F250... but I can't see taking a loss on my '07.
I was thinking of buying a brand new F250 and trading my '07, but eh... It's like I'm stuck in a rock and a hard place on this one.

if it's for non road use, you can really be open to anything with a cheap price tag, right? i would just start looking for trucks that have 4WD & run well enough to get the job done that your looking for it to do.
I was looking at some dirt cheap F250s, and they all seem to be a little weird... I saw some nice F150s for nearly the same price and they all looked decent.
