does it go off when the truck is not running? did you spray the door latch on the pass side?

might want to post in the general section. I see you are new to the site, no worries.

it's not the latch, it's the sensor in the front of the door

he might have thought this said lighting, not lightning

spray both latches and slam the doors a couple of times.

ON your truck is the switch built into the latch. If so do your doors lock when you go over 15? If so I would say one of your latch assemblies is screwed up. The Lightning locks when we put it in drive and let off the brake and we have a seperate button for the dome light switch. Could be your gem module.

Bing-Bing-Bing-We have a winner! I think you hit the nail on the head.
Four years ago when my wife told me we needed a truck, I had never heard of Lightnings' before I researched trucks. When I bought my truck only one guy at work heard that name before because he saw it on a race video game he played. So there are a lot of people that don't know what Lightning trucks are.
And wouldn't electrical contact cleaner be a better choice than WD-40?

This thread has since been removed from the Lightning forum.

well you just need to lubricate the latches so they fully close, if they latch closed but are still open electrically the light will stay on.

actually a silicone based lubricate is preferred in this scenario
