bumper swap

Sorry if I missed something, but I can't seem to find any previous posts about it. Can someone give me the details on what I will need to do to swap my 98 front bumper and grille with the 99 style...the one with the bigger grille and the dip in the bumper. I was told the brackets are different so i've been looking around for details but I cant find anything useful. Wanted to swap it soon to get ready for the new paint job (probably vista blue .) Thanks!

you really should use the search. this topic has been covered. search bumper swap & 14 pages came up. granted all 14 may not be pertaining to your situation, but the info is there. here are a couple.

I did, but I can never seem to get the results I want from the search feature on this forum or pretty much any like it lol. The first thread you listed is useful, but i'm confused when it comes to the bumper brackets...anyone know if the brackets I have to get are the ones that come with the bumper stock or are they afermarket?

All you have to do is go to the Ford dealer and ask for bumper brackets for a 99 and up F150. The stock ones you have now will not work. If you are buying a front end from a junkyard, just ask them to keep the brackets attached. If you are worried about the 99 bracket not lining up to your 98 frame, that is not an issue. I have done this swap years ago on a Expy I used to own. The conversion only took me an hour in my driveway
