F150 under frame part?

Under my 1997 F150 4x4 frame near spare tire , there is a box like device with wires going to it. Does anyone know what that is ?

If it's the Black box directly above the spare, it's the winch system the lowers and raises the spare.

hey torkum

Thank you for the diagram. I was searching threads today because my 1997 just set a P1450 code yesterday.
Do you (or anyone else) have any thoughts as the most likely culprit? The evap system has never been serviced other than a PCV valve or two. The truck has had nothing done to it lately other than turning over 100K miles on Thanksgiving.
Thanks!

update

When I got the code with my Micro Tuner, I cleared it and did the only quick and easy fix I could think of. I removed the gas cap, inspected it, shook it a couple times and put it on and off a couple of times.

Drove it 60 miles today without a code. Fixed for now
