installing new driver side window...help!
does anyone here have experience installing a window (front driver side) for a 2000 f-150? some bastard tried to break into my truck over the weekend and left me with a shattered mess. i don't want to take it to dealer for repair if this is something i can do myself in a day. i think i remember how to remove the interior door panel...i'm going to get all the broken glass out tomorrow. how difficult is it to install, do i need any specialty tools? how much does the glass cost??

I am going to wing it here and see if I can help you a little. First take the door pannel off and the plastic off. Clean the glass out and you may need some help installing the glass. But first you will have to remove the riviots from the window regulator and lay it in the bottom. This will make it easer to install the glass and the arm into the window track. Tilt the front of the glass into the front of the channel. Test fit the window I don't know if you have to install it from the inside or the outside of the door. If it seem to tight you may have to remove the riviot going to the rear window guide. As the window is installed you will have to have some one hold it up while to start the arm of the window regulator. After you get the regulator in plae you will have to eather riviot or bolt it back together. The riviots you can get at eather the Ford dealer or at the local jobber. If you don't have a riviot gun, you may have to rent or borrow one. Hope this helps!!! If all else fails take it to a body shop or a window repair shop. Good luck.
