Front valance - fog lights MOD

I recently bought my 2001. I have been looking on the internet and see the lower valance with fog light holes. I also see I can pick up a pair of fog lights. Can anyone tell me if the lower valance is a direct switch out with one w/o fog lights? Does anyone know if all the wiring harnesses have foglight connections, and where would a stock fog light swith be?
Sorry newbie for this board and F-150's. Love mine!

First off, Welcome!

I am getting ready to do the EXACT same thing on my 2001. The valance is a direct switchout, with tab holes even lining up.

Fog lights can be purchased on eBay, or at Ford dealerships. But go to eBay and get the Euro Clear Style Fogs, much better light output, and would look great with Lightning headlights.

Unless your truck had fog lghts originally, it won't have wires for a fog setup. Just wire them up yourself, with a seperate switch, that way you don't have to worry about not being able to have your fogs on with you high beams! You can have them on all the time!

Any more questions just ask!

I also want to get the lower valance with fog lights. If you are still looking there is a company called CertiFit Auto Body Parts. They appear to have very reasonable prices.
Keep posting on how it turns out.
I also have a question? I am also new to the site and still trying to figure out how to navigate the site. I sure could use some help on: how to post pics in a reply and how do you get you pics and profile to come up each time you post ie... like your dirtyd88 pic and then like 2001 F150 5.4 35'procomp( stuff like that). I see it on a lot of the threads. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I replaced my lower valance this summer. It was a direct fit, but no wires for the fogs. I bought the valance and the fogs for $200, had it painted and installed (minus the fog installation) for $300.. not too bad. I wired the fogs into my parking lights, so when my parking lights come on, so do my fogs

Certfit is a great place to get parts from! Just make sure that you inspect every inch of the valance before you leave!!!

I didn't do this, and came home to find a crack in my first valance, and they wouldn't take it back. So I had to get another one....

This is the one you want right here.....

Great! Thanks for the help. It may take me a while because I am getting the current spending freeze from SWMBO. I like the idea of wiring them into the parking lights. I have also seen the lights on Ebay. I also found the valance for $62 on ebay. I also found the Depo euro fogs on Ebay for about $105.
Many thanks!

I have to tell a story. The second week I had my truck, Ike hit. It was so nice to be able to navigate around the debris and drive around after the storm. Then haul my debris to the dump (5 loads, last one stacked twice as high at the cab), while others waited and watched their front lawn's die.
Nice to have a big truck. We have had a single cab 93 Nissan hard body but needed a full back seat for the kids car seats. Got mine for $3800. Great time to buy a truck.

Your are getting ripped off on the valance!! Certifit has a warehouse in Houston, so check out their website Certifit and go pick you up a valance for $27!!!

I did this on my 03. It was already prewired. Look under the bumper for a pigtail attached to the frame above where the fog lights go. It will have 2 different style plugs, one that matches the plug for the fog lights that match the valance in the picture and another that probably matches the harley. If you can locate that pigtail, you don't have to wire, just change out the headlight switch with one for fog lights.

I bought one of the last trucks made before the 04 redesign. Maybe they were just using the wiring on the end that would work on everything on the line. I also added the automatic headlamps & door entry keypad. It was prewired for these add ons also. My truck is a plain XLT 2wd

Hey redhead0630,
Do you fog lights blink with the turn signals?
Thanks,
Rob
