They're saying that tomorrow gas will be on an average of $3.15 here in miami. So I think I am going to take your advice and get the 4 banger.

How about starting off by not being a racist.

Referring to Japanese people as 'Jap' is derogatory.

Please, try to become more educated.

I don't want to be a pessimist here, but if you look around, you'll see what a lazy, spoiled, convenience-dependant society we have become in this country.

Don't get me wrong, I like my cell phone, my microwave, my computer, but the truth is, 25 years ago, we lived just fine without all of that. I'm not against progress - make no mistake. It's just that progress among the masses will never be achieved. There's far too much greed and avarice in the world.

Look at the papers; we have people suing companies because they sell us HOT coffee. (OH MY GAWD! THE NERVE! HOT COFFEE!) We have people eating fast food and blaming the fast food chain for making them obese! We aren't allowed to discipline our children because that's child abuse and we're bad parents! I don't know about all of you but I'm no kid anymore, and I remember getting my due when I misbehaved. Now, we "talk" to them. Yeah, we talk, then they go away and feel like they got away with murder. THAT works.

Our politicians lie to us, and smile.

We can't afford to make ourselves well if we get sick.

Ten years ago, I bought a brand new, fully loaded, extremely well-optioned truck for $17,800. Today, that same truck would cost me over $34,000.

In the early '70's the average 4-bedroom house cost $33,000. Today, $465,000. Did your salaries increase by 1400%? I know mine didn't.

Sorry to have such a Monday attitude on Tuesday, but we were born in the wrong era..... or maybe it's just me....

All I can say is God help our children. Imagine what they're in for at our (my) age...

I'm not refferring to Japaneese people or their culture. Jap is an abbreviation of the word Japanese. The same way that U.S. is for United States. And in no way did I mean to offend Jap cars, on the contrary, I value their worldwide impact and their amazing performance.

So please, try and become more "educated" yourself, or at least try not being so rude until you do so.

Right on brother! I feel the same way. Wish there was something I could do about it.

I saw 2 gas stations near my house yesterday that went up $.15 cents a gallon, just because of the hurricane. Our "smart" people at the local news stations announced on the 4:00 news that "gas prices will probably go up $.15 cents this week." I guess these 2 stations wanted to be the first. They were both $2.52 Monday morning. By 6pm, one was $2.65 and the other was $2.67. Gougers!!!

I highly doubt any action by the consuming public will force any lowering of the oil prices. In fact, I can forsee the opposite effect: Gas consumption drops, so to offset the losses the oil companies see due to the decreased consumption, prices must go up. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I expect the national average to be $3.00 by labor day. On a positive note, the sales of hybrids has gone up by 35% over the past week!
