Ford F-150 mods

Looking to Upgrade Your F-150? Here are Some Mods that Will have You Reconsidering Your Plans. One Is Completely Nuts!

The urge to install truck mods on our F-150 is strong. We all want our trucks to stand out from the crowd, after all. And there’s nothing wrong with that need for individualism. But some truck mods just shouldn’t exist, as this video from Viral Vehicles reminds us. As the saying goes: “Don’t be that guy.”

Here’s our summary run-down of the six worst attempts at modifying a Ford F-150:

  1. First off, truck nuts. The reasons why you shouldn’t “endow” your Ford F-150 with truck nuts are many. Let’s just say that it won’t exactly endear you to the opposite sex and move on.
  2. Next, we have tailgate nets. Does anybody actually use a tailgate net anymore? They haven’t been cool since the ’80s, and they don’t improve gas mileage. Next.
  3. The number three worst mod will surely cause some controversy because of its huge lift kits, defined in this video as double-digit lifts. At this point, ground clearance is more than adequate. Unless you are a hardcore mud enthusiast, of course.
  4. Number four, giant wheels with rubber band tires, will please most of our readership. While the appeal is subjective, you’re going to deal with poor ride quality.
  5. Next, we discuss the phenomena of rolling coal. This is admittedly good fun when you’re being tailgated by a Prius. But it’s also not exactly safe to breath.
  6. Lastly, we have excessive amounts of chrome. While this used to be the norm, modern vehicles look best with less. Stick to the chrome installed by Ford, and please don’t add a bunch of stick-on stuff.

So there you have it. Take this as a PSA to help you avoid ridicule and shaming. And whether you agree or not, head over to the F-150 forums and share your thoughts on the worst truck mods!
