Use the thinnest possible tranny oil you can get away with according to your OEM. Your transmission and diff have to push that stuff around. The thinner it is, the less power it’ll sap. Synthetic will help you out here as well. It keeps a more stable viscosity compared to the regular stuff across a range of temperatures.
A word of caution here. Thinner oil generally means notchier shifting and increased parts wear, especially when cold. But if you live in a warmer climate, this might help you out.
