TRUCK YOU! An Apple Red 2001 Ford SVT Lightning

It would be difficult to not hold an appreciation for the Ford SVT Lightning. They are so rare nowadays and are excellent rigs, so should come as no surprise that they are highly sought after trucks.

Despite looking similar to the regular F-150 at the time of their production, these beasts were equipped with a supercharger putting out 360 horsepower as well as other significant upgrades throughout. This is not your stock F-150!

Today we’ll step inside F150Online member MJG‘s garage and take a look at the 2001 Ford SVT Lightning that makes its home there!

Now, to keep a ride like this stock would be extremely difficult. After all, it is already highly upgraded and just waiting for someone to improve even further upon it! Currently, MJG is working on a build with this ride to more fully improve it.

His plans are to have a Ford Racing forged short block, Trick Flow heads with a comp cam and upgraded springs, long tube headers, high flow catalytic converters, a custom intercooler reservoir, a Canton oil pan, a Cobra high volume oil pump, a water pump from a ’04 Lightning, and much more. This ride will be exciting to see when it’s complete!

Not only does MJG own a very unique and low mileage ride, but he had also taken it upon himself to modify it and further improve its performance and more.
