Ever since the Ford Raptor debuted, OEM manufacturers stepped up and said that they would create something equal and better. None have, so now the aftermarket has done it with a collaboration of Southern Comfort Automotive and Lingenfelter Performance.

The first thing that stands out is the “Front Clip Restyling/Grill”. It’s not horrible, but it does drastically change the style of the 2014 Silverado. There is also a high clearance bumper with reinforced skid plate, LED daytime lights, and Rigid Industries Flood lights integrated into the truck.

The power for the Reaper comes from its supercharger, which is a Lengenfelter TVS1900 built by Magnuson Superchargers. It’s good for up to 550 horsepower in the 6.2 liter truck and there is a Corsa Performance Exhaust package that really makes this truck sound muscular.

Suspension comes in the form of Fox Racing remote reservoir shocks and a Ride Tech suspension. It’s good for 9.2 inches of travel in the front and 11.2 inches in the rear. The Raptor has 11.2 inches of travel, too, in the front. Never mind the 12.1 inches of travel in the rear.

Wheels come in two flavors, depending on how serious you go off road. 20 inch Reaper wheels with 315/50/R20 General Grabbers all around. However, if you’re really serious, you’ll be opting for the 17 inch Reaper Bead Locks with 33 inch General Grabber Red Letter tires.

So, is it really a Raptor killer like everyone claims? Possibly, the power and options are both top notch, but the lack of suspension travel is probably what kills it along with the drastic front end. We’ll see in March as that is the planned production time for the Lingenfelter/SoCo Auto Reaper.
