If there is one thing the winter of 2014 has taught us it’s this: Snow sucks if you are stuck! Now, Ford has added Snow Plow Prep option for the 2015 Ford F-150 just in time for the next winter season.

Mr Plow: 2015 Ford F-150 Adds Plow Prep

Ford’s new snow plow prep option is a unique option in the light-duty pickup category and just another way the Ford F-150 will continue to be the sales leader. It’s not limited to just a couple cab of configurations, either. In Regular Cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew, you can have the option of snow plow prep for aftermarket snow plows. With the push of the Snow Plow Mode button, the truck will temporarily turn off all nonessential features so that the snow plow equipment gets full power.

To get the option, you will have to get the 5.0 liter V8 and four-wheel drive, but you can get it in the XL, XLT, and Lariat trim levels. You’ll also then have to take your new F-150 to a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier to purchase and install the plow hardware. The maximum weight capability will be over 450 pounds, so it opens up to a large variety of plows.

Pricing isn’t announced yet, but we should know more before the end of the year and launch of the 2015 Ford F-150.
