Monster Jam 2018 Tour to Kick Off with Flying Ford Trucks

By -

Launching Jan. 5, epic monster-truck tour has all-new stunts and wild antics, including a visit from the Diesel Brothers and their ‘Brodozer.’

Monster trucks have come a long way since the days of the original Bigfoot. If you’ve attended any Monster Jam events in recent years, you already know that. These incredibly-powerful rides do things that simply defy all laws of physics. From complete front flips to “walking” backwards on two wheels, you never know what’s going to happen. But you know it’s going to be awesome.

And even if you missed out on the incredible action from last season, Monster Jam has you covered with a cool new video, above, that shares highlights along with details about the all-new stunts and wild antics coming up in MJ’s 2018 season, which kicks off January 5 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“When these competitors are battling it out in stadiums in 2018, there will be critical points on the line,” Monster Jam host Diana Reed reminds fans in the video. “Last year, the championship races had us holding our breath each and every week.”

“There are no easy tours when it comes to Monster Jam competition,” adds co-host Mitchell Rains, “and we can expect there to be some great challenges on this one.”

‘In 2018, Diesel Brothers plus the Brodozer diesel-powered monster truck is comin’ to you, and we’re gonna start knockin’ those other trucks off the podium.’

In addition to getting you amped up for the new shows, the video reveals one major spoiler for 2018. And it’s one that Ford fans in particular will appreciate.

It also helps if you’re a fan of Discovery Channel’s hit show Diesel Brothers. Because it turns out that Diesel Dave and Heavy D are campaigning a monster truck version of their Super Duty build BroDozer during this year’s Monster Jam! The first-ever diesel-powered monster truck is set to debut sometime in January.

“All right, America, we got a message for you,” says Heavy D. “Actually, it’s mostly a message for Grave Digger, Max-D, and all of the other Monster Jam trucks out at the Monster Jam events…”

“We’re comin’ for you!” adds Diesel Dave.

“[In] 2018, Diesel Brothers plus the Brodozer diesel-powered monster truck is comin’ to you,” continues Heavy D, “and we’re gonna start knockin’ those other trucks off the podium.”

“Eppppiiiiiiccccccc!!!!!!!!” declares Diesel Dave in no uncertain terms. And we could not agree more.

But it isn’t just the new faces that have us excited for the coming Monster Jam tour. Veteran drivers like Bari Musawwir, who pilots a Ford F-150 named “Zombie,” always put on a great show.

“The competition is definitely stacked on this tour,” says Musawwir. “I can’t wait to get started.

“Aside from traveling and seeing the country,” he adds, “I’m definitely looking forward to interacting with Monster Jam fans, especially when they bring out the Zombie arm wave, and I can interact with them from the time the Pit Party starts to the time the show is over. I just can’t get enough of it.”

In the clip, Musawwir is pretty excited about the coming season, noting that “this year’s competition is stacked.” Along with “Zombie,” there are plenty of additional monstrously-cool Ford-inspired trucks to pull for, including Zane Rettew‘s “Stinger“; Darren Migues‘ “Nitro Menace“; Cam McQueen‘s “Northern Nightmare”; and  Tyler Menninga‘s “Grave Digger,” which melds together aspects of a 1951 Ford Panel Truck and a 1950 Chevy truck.

Also new in 2018 are a few very exciting additions, including allowing smartphone-toting attendees in every city to vote in real-time, in-stadium for the truck winner in the two-wheel and freestyle competitions.

For the 2018 Monster Jam tour’s stadium events only, monster truck enthusiasts can opt for an upgraded pass that provides the opportunity to get up close and personal to the Monster Jam trucks and drivers.

The 2018 Monster Jam season kicks off on January 5 in cities including Charlotte, Des Moines, and Salt Lake City. But you don’t have to wait until then to catch the action, as there are still plenty of events going on this fall. Head over here for a full schedule and ticket details.
