Ford Taps Bryan Cranston for New ‘Future is Built’ Commercials

By -

Ford comes out swinging in new ads focusing on its accomplished past and confidence in the future.

In Ford’s latest ad campaign “The Future is Built,” Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston delivers each line with a little edge, and a little well-deserved swagger for the Blue Oval.

The commercial features a series of shots that take on a variety of tropes including TED talks, Hollywood blockbusters, AI technology, and–let’s be honest–their competitor’s commercials. But Ford brushes away all the pretense to focus on the real message: Talk is cheap, Ford takes care of business.

“Talk doesn’t get things done, building does,” Cranston says. “Building. Like we have for the last 115 years.”

There are a variety of images of Ford factories and vehicles from the past, and the technology and rides that will dominate the future. And as we see a beautiful Ford truck drive in the desert, Cranston brings the message home.

“Let the other guys dream about the future. We’ll be the ones building it.”

It’s a powerful ad that delivers a confident vision for the company, and shows a rare (but wholly justified) tone of bravado. And, of course, Cranston nails Ford’s self-assurance with just the right amount of tongue-in-cheek humor, and a solid wink to Ford fans.

The future is built, and it looks damn good.
