F-150 Proves it’s ‘Built Ford Tough’ in Crazy Accident

Pickup truck takes direct hit from cop cruiser and recovers like a champ.

The famous “Built Ford Tough” slogan that the automaker uses to describe its trucks really does illustrate how rugged the pickups are. Not only can the Ford F-150 tow an impressive amount of cargo, but it can also take a hit like a champ — and by champ, we mean a Canelo Álvarez-caliber champ!

According to The Enterprise, an unmarked police cruiser in Brockton, Mass., near Boston, careened into an F-150 during a police chase. As the outlet reports, Brockton Police Lt. Mark Porcaro stated that detectives observed a red Lexus weaving through traffic at a high rate of speed. An unmarked police cruiser attempted to chase the Lexus down, but struck a black Ford F-150, which was being driven by an innocent bystander whose day was about to get hella scary.

The police cruiser, according to The Enterprise, sustained a large amount of front-end damage and had to be towed from the scene, while the F-150 fared much better. The pickup truck looked like it was capable of making it to a repair shop under its own power. It suffered minor damage to its left side, proving that a collision can’t stop an F-150 from getting the job done.

The story has a good ending: The red Lexus was later spotted near a gas station and the driver was arrested. According to Porcaro, the loon in the Lexus will be charged with operating a motor vehicle to endanger, and possibly other charges.
