Ford F-150 Dominates State-by-State Sales

Ford - state-by-state sales

Almost half the country prefers the F-150 to every other vehicle.

Everyone knows that the F-Series has been the best selling vehicle in the US for decades. Last year alone, the F-Series sold a whopping 820,000 vehicles, almost a quarter-million more than the #2 vehicle. Now, thanks to Business Insider, which gathered current stats directly from Kelley Blue Book, we can break these sales down state-by-state to see where the F-150 sells best.

While being the #1 selling vehicle in the U.S. is a huge achievement in itself, when you break it down state-by-state, the dominance is even more impressive. The Ford F-150 leads all other vehicles with 22 states won. That leads all other vehicles by a large margin. Hell, that’s almost half the entire country! Coming as no surprise, the only states that the F-150 didn’t do well in are states on the coast, where people value gas mileage and smaller size. When you look at the South, Southwest, and Midwest, the F-150 is the clear choice. Even Alaska knows which truck is better than the rest.

The next closest vehicle is the Silverado 1500, which also ranks #2 in total sales in the U.S., with seven states won. The Subaru Outback, Toyota RAV4, and Honda CR-V all have strong showings, as well. However, when you stack all the cars against the F-150, there’s just no competition.
