Diesel-Powered Ford Truck Build Prepares to Roll (Coal)

Ford Truck

While it awaits a built 7.3-liter Power Stroke transplant, this Ford truck already looks the business!

These days, diesel-powered rigs rule the web. And it’s pretty easy to see why. There are few things in life which generate the same kind of visual impact as a big, bodacious, black smoke-belching Ford truck, after all. And when you take something like a 1996 Ford truck and throw a built 7.3-liter Power Stroke under the hood, you’ll get our attention every single time.

That’s exactly what a guy by the name of Bill Renner is currently working on. And even though his build isn’t quite finished yet, it is well worth a look. Plus, we’ll cut Renner some slack because he’s currently at Paris Island training for the Marine Corps. There aren’t many things we think take precedence over building a sweet Ford truck. But committing to serving our country is probably at the top of that list.

Regardless, there’s more than enough substance here to know that this is going to be one killer truck when it’s finished. The outside looks absolutely sinister in matte grey with blacked out/painted trim. Throw on a set of 20×14 wheels and beefy Nitto tires, and this Ford truck looks pretty evil. We’re especially digging the headlight-mounted intake, which is certainly a nice touch that only adds to that effect.

Pretty much everything is complete on this Ford truck build except for the engine. And from the looks of things, that’s going to be well worth the wait. Renner’s list of parts is pretty extensive, and this 7.3 looks like it’s going to be a tire-smoking, coal rolling beast. And while you wait for that to happen, be sure and catch up on this sweet project by giving Renner a follow on Instagram!
