Diagnostic Description Template Example

This is the Check Engine Light (CEL). They’re present in all F-150s. It comes on when the car is experiencing a malfunction related to the engine  itself or it’s associated systems. For that reason, the CEL is the light most likely to come on in your dashboard for no apparent reason.
It has two modes:

– Light turns solid after engine is on: There is an issue with your car’s engine or associated systems. <Link to “Help! My Check Engine Light is on!” Diagnostic>

– Light blinks: Indicates that the engine is having some kind of misfire. Normally accompanied by a rough running motor. <Link to “Help! My Check Engine Light is Flashing!”>

This is a Electronic Throttle Control. Some F-150s have this light but not all of them. (which ones? -ED.)

– Light turns on when Limp Home Mode is activated
