Can You Name the Top 10 Greatest Ford F-150 Engines of All Time?

From straight sixers and V8s to twin-turbo EcoBoosts and mighty diesels, what’s your favorite F-150 powerplant?

F150Online‘s sister site, Ford Truck Enthusiasts, recently put together an EPIC top-ten list of legendary Ford F-150 engines. From gas-powered straight sixers and monster V8s to twin-turbo EcoBoosts and mighty diesels, Ford has produced a lot of impressive and reliable powerplants over the F-150’s storied history as America’s best-selling vehicle year after year.

And, while a lot of elements go into making a great truck great, we think the hearts of these beasts — namely these 10 engines — are worthy of entering some kind of Ford Hall of Fame. (NOTE: our selections are NOT currently in any order or ranking.)

It goes without saying that Ford’s 300 inline-six is a legend among all powerplants, not just Ford truck engines. The mighty mill debuted back in 1965 and managed to stick around in the F-Series for 30 years, earning a lot of trust and fans along the way. That’s because the 300 provides tons of torque in a package that’s simply hard to kill. The 300 is such a great engine, in fact, that it’s been used in everything from wood chippers to generators to UPS trucks.
