Gorgeous 50th anniversary truck underwent extensive restoration to bring it back to its original glory.

There’s something about bright paint jobs that just bring out the best in antique vehicles. Take for instance this 50th Anniversary 1953 Ford F-100 we found on Barrett-Jackson, which features an award-winning paint job that covers the gorgeous machine in a beautiful teal hue.

The exterior of the F-100 features an eye-popping white and teal paint job. While white usually helps colors pop, it tones the teal down on this truck and can be found on the roof, grille and tires. There’s also a large helping of chrome — this is an antique after all — on the bumper, badges, mirrors and wheels. Hand-painted show boards that stick out from the pickup’s oak bed are meant to commemorate Ford’s 50th birthday in style.

The individual that got the pickup restored loved the teal color so much, that they decided to include it on the inside, as well. The dashboard and door panels appear to share the gorgeous shade of teal as the outside. Luckily, the seats and steering wheel are black, because there is such a thing as too much.

Underneath the hood lies a 223 cu. in. six-cylinder Cost Clipper engine with a three-speed manual transmission. The vehicle, according to the listing, “runs and drives beautifully.” If you’ve fallen in love with this F-100 like we have, we’re afraid there’s some bad news:  The truck crossed Barrett-Jackson’s block at its 2016 Las Vegas Auction and sold for $27,500, which seems like a great deal for the lucky new owner of this badass ride. If there’s anything good to take from the sale, it’s that great deals on antique F-100s can still be had — but they won’t last long on the auction block.
