After a century of riding around in a reindeer-powered sleigh, it’s time for old Saint Nick to step up his game with this red-hot Ford Lightning!

For over a century, Santa Claus has made due traveling the world in a red sleigh pulled by reindeer. It goes without saying that he’s well overdue for an upgrade. And we think that this 2001 Ford Lightning would make the perfect modern ride. For starters, it’s more stylish and comfortable, but it also sports more cargo room. Not to mention a whole lot more power than that gaggle of individually named reindeer can provide!

Not only that, but this is one of the few 2nd gen Ford Lightning examples we’ve seen in a while that hasn’t been used or abused. Inside and out, the speedy pickup is virtually spotless. Not the kind of condition you’d expect to see a 16 year-old vehicle with 104,000 miles in, that’s for sure. And as an added bonus, this one comes with a handful of unnamed mods that boost horsepower over the 400 mark!

A couple of other touches, including aftermarket headlights and a rear spoiler, make this blazing red Ford Lighting a little more appealing to look at. Despite those mods, however, this is one of the cleaner examples we’ve seen in some time. And since Ford no longer offers a two-wheel drive performance pickup, it’s about as good as Santa’s gonna get for now. Well, unless he spends a lot more cash and picks up a new, dealer-built Ford Lightning, that is.

Then again, you can beat jolly old Saint Nick to the punch. And all you need is a reasonable $13,950 to do so. Because this shiny red sleigh is up for grabs down in Germantown, Ohio. Just don’t be surprised if it lands you on the naughty list, though. Or nabs you nothing more than a lump of coal under the tree this year!
