Two-tone Ford F-150 Ranger Is a Sexy Seventies Survivor

Vintage square bodied 1978 F-150 is also more available and affordable than you’d think, and a steal at $7,900!
There is a very vocal group of Ford truck fans that consider the sixth-generation F-series the best of the best. We can’t deny that the 1970s F-150s were some of the coolest Ford ever made. This era brought us the F-150s we know and love. And no doubt we think the two-toned style definitely needs to make a comeback, because damn.
We came across this awesome 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT on Autotrader. First we were impressed at its outstanding condition. Then we saw it was only $7,900. Cool.

Part of the reason this F-150 looks so good is that is spent 30 years in Texas, that explains the lack of rust. It then went to a collector who did a little fixing up and repainted the pickup. It was kept in the garage in the winter, and has only 77,330 on the odometer. Yeah, it’s got a lot of life left in it. And, but for a few minor superficial dings and spots of peeling paint, the truck is almost cherry.
The interior features a unique Ford seat with the Blow Oval logo stitched on the back. A very cool detail for us Ford fanatics.
The F-150 is powered by a 351M V8 engine, and is paired to a 3 speed automatic transmission. Most of the details remain from the original including dual exhaust power steering, power disc brakes, and gauges. The carbuerator has been rebuilt, there is a new battery and tires.

These classic trucks are, quite simply, badass. And this one impressed us with its superior seventies style.

We love the character and effortless style this F-150 has.

They don’t make trucks ’em like this anymore. And while we gained a lot in performance and luxury, we’ll always have love for a classic F-150.
