1973 Ford F-250 Highboy

This F-250 Highboy is a two-tone time machine straight back to the early 1970s when trucks were simple tools.

For most of us, Ford trucks from the 1970s are the ultimate dream, combining timeless styling with simplistic construction and inherent toughness. Among those pickups, the venerable highboy is perhaps the most coveted, factory four-wheel-drive models that, well, sit up higher than usual. And they just don’t get any better than this amazing 1973 Ford F-250 highboy that’s currently up for sale at All Metal Classics.

Much of that can be attributed to the fact that this 1973 Ford F-250 highboy has a mere 48k miles showing on the odometer. It’s also in simply incredible condition, with beautifully straight and rust-free bodywork covered in a very attractive two-tone paint job. No word on whether everything here is original or if the truck’s been restored, but we’d guess the latter given how incredibly clean it is in every regard.

The F-250 is also in remarkably original condition, right down to its steel wheels, which are wearing a newer set of BFGoodrich tires. But the black interior is immaculate and straightforward, with just a bench seat and little else. The engine bay is clean enough to eat off of as well, with a sea of black punctuated by a blue air cleaner and valve covers, and little else.

This classic F-250 does have a few amenities, including an automatic transmission and power brakes. The seller still has the original owner’s manual and service booklets, and even the original radio is still present inside the cabin. Overall, whether it’s been restored or not, this highboy is indeed an incredible example of its prestigious breed, and one that we’d wager any Blue Oval fan would love to add to their collection.

As for how much that privilege will cost, well, we can’t say, as the seller hasn’t listed their asking price. But given the state of the market and the insane popularity these trucks enjoy today, we doubt it’ll be cheap. In this case, the old saying “if you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it” likely applies, so we’d recommend sitting down before you call the seller to inquire.
