Question New tire balencing

I just bought a 02 F150 with the ORP had a 97 before, I was wondering if the wheel wieghts can be transfered to the inside of the wheel to prevent dameging the clear coat?I live in MN and the salt and crud always damages the wheels there and you have blemish in the finish if you ever have to rebalence.

thanks Kirt

Shouldn't be a problem...

When I bought new tires last fall at Sam's Club (Goodrich Trail T/As; 17"), I asked them if they could do what you asked. They said, "Yeah, we'll static balance them." So, whatever that means, they wheel weights were placed on the inside of the rims. With the exception of one weight that fell off in the first week, it seems to work just fine.

The way my rims are designed, you must place the weights on the inside. The weights are thick little squares (with adhesive on one side) placed on the inner rim surface. It can be a pain to clean when rebalancing but they're virtually invisible and won't spoil "the look"..
