how critical is wheel width for 2013 f150 fx4
I have a 2013 f150 fx4, it came with 275/65R18 tires on what I believe were 8.5Jx18 ET35 wheels.
I still have the wheels from my 2005 F150, they had the same tire size, but I believe the wheels are little narrower at 8Jx18 ET35. I had them powder coated black.
I would like to go to a slightly taller tire, like a 275/70R18 now on my 2013. Same width and only 1.1 inch taller.
My real question is will the 8 inch wheel work for me on the 2013 since it was the wheel width for that tire in 2005? or did Ford figure out a 275 series tire really needs a 8.5 inch wide wheel to work well.
