Starting to shop around for tires, as the tread on my Nitto Crosstek HD's is starting to get a bit low. I plan on going with a more aggressive tire, and haven't totally settled on which one, but am highly considering Maxxis Bighorns.I had a used set, before my current tires, and they were pretty damn good in everything I threw at them. Kinda interested in Kelly Safari TSR's as well. A part of me is considering going to a larger tire. Currently running 285/70/17, and I have 4.56 gears. My fear of going bigger, while happily dropping my highway RPM, will cause me to lose a bit of power at the wheels. My little 4.6 needs all the help it can get, to be honest. Once I finally get it up and running, I am hoping to have some fun with my Bronco, and it will be towed to those places. How much would going to a 305/70/17 or to a 315/70 or 35x12.5 affect my performance, vs my HD 285's?
