BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A tire question
Couple quick questons regarding this tire: What size are you running on stock rims, how is the wear of the tire, and most importantly how is the road noise?
I drive a 2005 XLT 4x4 with 17" stock rims, I want to keep my rims but go 295/70/17's or 305/70/17's. I realize this is a mud tire and will have road noise but how bad is it?
Thanks,
Douglas

I have the mud terrains on my stock 17" wheel and love them. I have 285s with a 2" AS leveling kit and think they look pretty good. I wish I would have gone with the 305s but these fit pretty well. Before this truck I had a Cherokee lifted with 35" mud terrains so I have been using these tires for quite some time now. As long as you get the tires rotated per the recommendation of the tire shop (I do mine every 5k miles), the tires should actually last a very long time. I have never had any uneven wear and this is my 3rd set that I have used on various vehicles. The road noise, IMO, is acceptable. It's not really loud you can just hear the hum of the tires but most people expect this since they're getting a mud tire. Hope this helps.

I plan on getting a set of the 285/70/17 for my 06 4x4 Screw with 2.5 leveling kit. I am going with aftermarket wheels 17x9. I had them on my F-250 and loved them. They do have some noise but I actually like that. They look great compared to the AT's IMO. I dont think they make the muds in 295.
