Compatibility of ABS EHCU?

Hello, I have a 2001 F150 4x4. Ford dealer told previous owner HCU bad. ABS Light stays on and ABS doesn't function (doesn't pulse brakes).
From the Ford Dealer's Service invoice:
" EEC Tested retrieved code B1076 performed pinpoint test found bad HCU Cust declined repairs"
They told him $500+ for the HCU.
I bought the truck and now am trying to figure out how to fix it.
I found used parts at a good salvage yard, but they have several different ID/PN. My unit says:
"Kelsey-Hayes PPA-1GF133
LV EHCU 13352514
F4A0652 0530
YL34-2C346-AG"
The used parts/salvage place lists theirs with ID like the YL34-2C346-AG.
Does it make a difference if it is an AG or an AB or AE, etc.? (I don't know if they have an AG, but know they have an AB)
Will I have to get the computer scanned/reset after replacing the unit, or will having the battery cable off reset the computer enough?
Thanks!

A difference in the 2nd digit of the suffix probably isn't significant enough to make it INcompatible, but it might be. Only a friendly Ford parts guy or extremely good tech could tell you for sure, but junkyards usually have interchange charts that are usually accurate. Does the JY say the one they have WILL work in your truck?
