who builds desert tough wheels?

hi folks,

my 01 screw is a daily driver, but i make frequent offroad and desert trips.
i have a heavy nose with extreme bumper, winch and hilift.

i want ot get some new wheels that are tough enough for desert use.

i thought that weld racing was a good choice as they are one piece and
aluminum. however, my local tire/wheel vendor said, naw, they are
out of round, they leak and weld is bankrupt.

besides that, the new model, method that i hoped to get in 17x10 doesnt fit my
truck.

so its back to the drawing board, i ask you all, what is a tough wheel vendor?

from that beginning, i will look to see what appeals to me within that product line.

tia, jackc...

You were right about the Welds. They, or any other forged aluminum wheel would be a good choice. Pro Comp and American Racing also make a line of forged aluminum wheels. I'd suggest them, or a steel wheel.

so my local dealer was wrong or lying?!

did i read this as order of choice is weld, procomp, or american?

-or-

procomp, amaerican and not weld?

i have a concern about procomp as i've only been aware of them for a few years,
american has been around for awhile.

weld has a great line up or products, i was dismayed to hear them dissed...

Thx for your reply!
