Arrow New Tires

I have an '03 CrewCab XLT 4x4. Right now I have stock tires 255/70-16. Getting ready to get new tires and want to get bigger tires to fill the wheel well better. I was thinking about 285/75-16. Will these fit or maybe rub?? Any info would be great...also will going up this much affect anything else alot...or not too much?? Thanks again.

I went from 255/70-16's to 285/75-16's and didn't notice any difference other than my speedometer is now off 5mph at 60mph. The 285's fit with room to spare unless you use a 16x10 inch wheel which will require you to trim about 1/2 inch of plastic off the front bumper's lower valance for clearance.

I have a 97 4x4 and put Bridgestone M/Ts on in that size (285s) and no rubs at all. Then I replaced them with Bridgestone A/T Revos in the exact same size and they slightly rub against the factory mud flaps when turning the steering wheel fully from side to side. Same tire company and same tire size. Go figure. The rubbing is very minor. When I have to replace these tires I'm still going to stick with the size. They do fit the wheel well better and you'll like the new beefier look.

Your speedometer will be off by about a few mph. It also had an affect on the trucks pickup performance. My 4.6 is kinda sluggish under acceleration and the larger diameter tires made it worse. I don't know what rearend gears are in my truck but there isn't any tow package.

Stock tires on a stock F150 4x4 always looked kinda whimpy to me.
