I still am not understanding why you would need to bleed your brakes if you change your pads. In my case I have a low mileage truck. I would like to cut down on brake dust with ceramic pads you guys talk about here. I would think you would just slip out the stock ones and slip the new ones in and go. What am I missing? Who makes the best ceramic pads and where do you get them? Thanks

You don't have to bleed your brakes when you change pads.

 

You only need to bleed the brakes if you expose air to the system such as opening a brake line.
You shouldn't need to remove a line to replace the pads. Simply remove the Master Cylinder Cap before you compress the caliper.
It's not going to be as simple as remove pads and slip in the new ones but shouldn't take too long. Good luck....

 

I changed mine at 13,000 miles, did not bleed the brakes as I did not open the lines. It is smooth as silk, no problems.

I wouldn't use the bleeder valve as suggested there but that's my way. Good luck...

 

Thanks for the replys. I didn't think it I would have to bleed the brakes but read on here that others were having too.
