2 Quick Questions

Hello ,
I have a chance to buy 4 USED 265/75-R16 Michelin LTX M/S tires. The guy told me that "These tires average 8-9/32nds of rubber ". The Stock ( junk ) tires on my 2002 xlt 4x4 5.4 are 255/70-R16 Goodyear rt/s .
Question #1 .
Will these fit my truck and if they do cause performance issues ?

Question #2 .
" average 8-9/32nds of rubber" ? How much life would be left on these tires or how much life has been used .

Thanks ,

1) They will fit without any problem. Your speedo will be a little off (will read that you are going slower than you actually are), and you might notice some decrease in performance but I doubt it will be that bad.

2) Can't really answer that one, but the Michelin's supposedly get great tread life.

I know this is a little late.... These are great tires! Had three sets! One on a 93 Toyota FJ-80. Two sets on a 94 FJ-80. When the last Toyota was totaled, I went back for the Toyota (at a buddy's Toyota dealership, to get the tires as they only had 20K on them. Put them on the Ford. What a difference! The Ford was transformed. No more noise! Less steering correction at speed on the highway. And handling was markedly improved. The only thing you won't like is the price when it comes time to replace them, not outrageous, but definately not cheap!
