Question 33x12.5 R15 Pro Comp Tires

I just got a great deal on a set of 33" by 12.5 R15 MT Tires by Pro Comp. A couple of people said that the tires won't fit on my 98' because I wouldn't be able to turn very good if at all. Then more people said that they would. I also got a great deal on a set of wheels to go with them; from a guy I know real good. but the guy that sold the wheels to me also gave me adapters for the wheels, so they stick out more and so that the tires would work on my truck. A guy at a tire place said they won't work without adapaters and he's not sure if the tires will work with them. He said getting a lift won't make a difference, it's the R15 that doesn't work. Does anybody know if the tires will work? Adapters or not?

A 33x12.50-16 (305/70-16) will fit (barely) on a stock 4x4 using a 16x10 inch wheel with 4 1/2 inches of backspacing. If you use a 15x10 inch wheel with an adaptor to make them fit, this will effectively reduce the amount of backspacing you have and push the tires way out. This will cause major fitment problems. You will be much better off to exchange the tires for some 305/70-16's and find some 16 inch wheel made for your truck. Besides, even with an adaptor pushing the wheels out they may not fit over your brakes.
