Will 285/75/16 BFGoodrich Tires fit on 16x7 wheels?

I have a 1999 F-150 4x4, and I want to put 285/75/16 BFGoodrich A/T's on my stock rims. My rims are 16x7 and I was wondering if they would fit. I now someone with a 2000 4x4 and he has the tires but I'm not sure if they are the same rims. I think that they are but I'm not sure. Anyway natltires.com says that the rim size is 16x8. Does anyone have this size tires on stock 16x7 rims? Will they fit?

Sure will! I even have a close friend who mangaged to squeeze 315/75R16(35s!) onto the stock 16x7 rim, it can be done! And a 285 will fit easily, no prob! Hope this helps!

I just had BFG 285/75/16 tires mounted on my 2001 F-150 SuperCrew on the stock rims. They fit and look great. Didn't know if they would fit but the guys at discount tire have always been willing to 'try' a tire on my vehicles to ensure good fit, no rubbing etc..
They put one on and after we'd tried the steering from lock to lock and eye-balled the clearances, I gave the thumbs up and as a bonus, we found out that this tire JUST fits the spare tire well under the rear. The guys didn't think the spare was going to fit but voila, fits like a glove (any taller however and I'd be driving on the next size down). Don't know if your '99 wheel wells or suspension height is the same as mine, but just take her down to the tire shop and try one on for size.
